Jacksonville and St Augustine Offshore Report

The wahoo bite has slowed down over the last couple weeks. High speed trolling hasn't been producing many wahoo bites at all. It seems that the few that have been caught have been on trolled ballyhoo. The fish seem to be holding in the 150-165ft range if they are there. Sailfish have been caught here and there as well.

Bottom fishing in 150-160ft off of Jacksonville near the ledge has been producing great catching of big trigger fish and red porgies (pink snapper). Of course the amberjack are think out there as well. The grouper and snapper bite out deep seems to be fairly slow.

The snapper and grouper have moved a bit offshore but the bite has been hot. Snapper limits have been consistent in the 100-125ft range over the last 2 weeks. Elton Bottom and 21 fathom areas and ledges have been producing great catches. There are still some grouper in the party grounds but you'll have to be patient and wait for the bite and weed through the trash fish and sharks. Anchor over the structure and put down a few big baits. If you're patient you should get a shot at a couple nice grouper.
